On Vacation At Mom’s

by Kristen Suzanne

This week I’m on vacation over at my mom’s house. She doesn’t live far from us, but it still feels like a vacation anyway. :) We packed up Kamea (so much to pack – lol!) and we drove over with our big dog. It’s been awesome because mom has a big house with all hard wood floors and tile throughout so I’ve been able to push Kamea around in her stroller and it’s like going for a walk – haha. It’s much bigger than our condo so I’m loving it! This is her dining room where Greg is working.

Love all those books!

I’ve been practicing with the Moby wrap now that I decided it’d be better with Kamea’s feeties out. I was right! So much easier to do and she is really starting to like it! Here is my first attempt.

Kamea is licking it - lol.

Here is our second attempt the next day (which was today). For the first time…. she fell asleep in a babywearing thing! I was so happy.

My precious sweet darling.

Kamea has had a few firsts while we’re over at her Nana’s. For starters, she is now officially grabbing at things and holding onto them. I didn’t come too prepared with toys for our stay, but thankfully I grabbed the little colored rings that I rigged onto her buggy. She’s happy. And, the second big event for us… she had her first fit of giggles. She was watching my mom’s two small dogs play together and she couldn’t take her eyes off them. Then, she started laughing and couldn’t stop. It was so awesome! I wish I had recorded it.

We bought her first pair of organic leggings and here they are. So cute! The company was recommended by one of my readers (THANK YOU!) and I bought them here. Then, today, I found some more on sale (bamboo baby leggings) and bought some more. They’re so friggin’ cute!!! They will make diaper changing a breeze if I don’t have to take pants on and off.

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE MY LIL BABY?!?!?!

Whew! All this being cute and charming sure makes little Kamea tired! Nap time!

Zzzzzzzzzzz

I love having everyone here. Don't mind having all your crap laying on the floor…tables…sink..counter tops. Your dog??? Don't mention it. He is great with all my 4 dogs…. Extra shit in the backyard…. That's Ok too.. I look down when I walk.. when Lynn gets back from Michigan.. I will tell him a coyote must have jumped the wall and shit in our backyard. Also, the best part is the trash. I seem to empty it more often. Why??? Glad you asked… Kamea's shitty organic diapers. And don't make me mention all the throw up on my tops. I have lots of tops… Lots dirty because of her. But stay as long as you want.. This is a test for the holidays… I will be having you guys and more… MOM

she's so adorable! at my sister's with her new baby. baby forced them into babywearing! she loves it. she loves her sling and ergo. dad just took her for a walk in her sling to settle her down. the moby looks complicated compared to her sling but maybe it's more versitle? my niece is also grasping at some rattles.

Kamea is getting even cuter if that's possible! Love the orange leggings (my fav. color!) Oh, how I want a girl. Send some vibes out to London that hubby and I made a baby this weekend. :-) My 3 year old needs a sibling and I need some baby snuggles and smells again. For now, living vicariously through you.

You got it! Baby vibes and dust headed your way. :) Orange is our

    fave, too. :)

Kamea is so precious! I love, love the leggings. It is so funny how all babies are so different. Ella would only sleep in her sling or Ergo until she was 5 1/2 months old. At night she slept with her face burrowed into my armpit, which scared the crap out of me!! Then at 7 months, she was done and wanted to sleep in her own bed alone. She sleeps on a queen size mattress (on floor) and moves all over the bed….LOL!!

That is funny! Love the armpit vision – lol! Kamea is definitely a

mover and thrasher so she might want to sleep by herself too in the

    future.

She is soooo cute! Glad you are liking the MOBY! If I have another baby I am definitely going to get a MOBY (or try making one, eesh!) and I'll also use my ERGO at a little older age……

So cute and snuggly! And <3 for giggles. Glad you figured out your wrap. The great thing about tiny babies is they really don't need much to keep them entertained, almost any household item will do.

Your daughter is so precious! I love the leggings. Such a great idea. My little girl will be here in December, so i just bought some to keep her little legs warm throughout the winter. Also glad the moby is working out, I plan on getting one to carry her in as well.

Vacation to your mothers sounds simple and intimate.  This blog makes me want to reconnect with family.  I may not go to my mothers but maybe taking my mother on vacation will be a great way to spend time with her.  I was just looking at family vacays on  travel destinations so I just may take one soon.
