Kamea had her two month doctor visit this week and my little baby is thriving! She is in the 75th percentile for her weight and 90th percentile for her length. She’s just perfect!

She is adorable. I'd never guess she is only 2 months old. I guess it is because Hayden is such a shorty. She had her 12 month visit last week. She is in the 10th percentile for height and the 10-25th percentile for weight (she's a good eater). I can't believe she hasn't hit 20 pounds yet. No wonder all her friends are as big or bigger than her, even though she's older.

I've been thinking about you, as I've been reading to her a lot lately (her brother has been reading to her, too). She really is enjoying board books by Sandra Boynton. They have a great rhythm to them, kind of like Dr. Suess. She also will be going to story time at our local library starting in a couple weeks. You should look into one in your area. Her group is for ages birth to 2 years.

That's a great Idea. Thanks for the reminder. Libraries are fantastic!

Sweet little Hayden… She's so lucky to have you for her mom. :)

When the time comes for introducing solid food, will you give her dairy and meat products? Just curious.
    BTW she's a real beauty!

    Beautiful!

I remember you mentioning you were going to practice Elimination Communication a while back (before Kamea arrived.) I was wondering how it's going? Maybe you could share anything you have learned so far? I am due in around 3 weeks, and I read The Diaper Free Baby and hope to use the techniques at least part time (I will have to go back to work unfortunately…) If you have been doing it, did you start right away? Thanks!

I haven't even attempted it. Honestly, I'm not sure how while she's so
young and as someone else said “floppy.” She poops all wet while she's
feeding. I don't want to stop her feeding to hold her over a toilet. I
will start working on it when she's a tad older. I'll be sure to
    report my findings. ;)

Good to know- I might have gotten discouraged had I not heard that from someone else. Keep us posted. :)

Kamea is so gorgeous because her features are balanced from all that good nutrition and care you have provided, Kristen. Reminds me of the photos I saw in one of Weston A. Price's books of the people who had lived on a healthy diet. Their features were balanced. And those eyes. This child is so present. Thanks for the inspiration of what good living provides.

congrats on the milestones and your beautiful baby girl!

and just saw your soup/stew recipe on your other site…yum!

btw, I posted about fennel today and thought of you. it's very lactogenic (enhances milk production..not that you need it, Miss 75 & 90th %)…but it can also be very soothing to babies' tummies as it passes thru the milk. Just a thought if you ever need some calming vibes, forgot to tell you about fennel before :)
